Garage Door Opener Won\’t Open, Close, or Reverse — We\’ll Fix It
Your opener is a small motor doing a big job, and when it fails, you\’re stuck — literally. Most opener problems aren\’t the motor itself; they\’re the safety sensors, the limit switches, the logic board, or the trolley. Our techs diagnose first, repair second. If it\’s truly time for a new opener, we install LiftMaster and Chamberlain belt-drives that come with smartphone control and a 5-year warranty.
Common opener problems
- Opener runs but door doesn\’t move: stripped trolley gear or broken trolley carriage
- Door closes then reverses: safety photo eye sensors out of alignment
- Remote not working: dead battery, frequency interference, or programmed-out
- Wall button works, remote doesn\’t: remote needs reprogramming
- Loud buzzing, no movement: capacitor failure on chain-drive openers
- Lights flash and door won\’t move: safety system fault — usually photo eyes
Repair vs. replace decision
If your opener is under 8 years old and the issue is sensors, capacitor, logic board, or trolley — we repair. If the opener is older than 12 years, has been repaired multiple times, or is a 1/3 HP chain-drive struggling with a heavy door — we recommend replacement. New belt-drives are quieter, last 15+ years, and have smartphone integration that older models can\’t add.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before booking a service.
My opener works sometimes — what's wrong?
Almost always a sensor or remote-frequency issue. Our diagnostic call is $90 and we apply that to any repair.
How long do garage door openers last?
Belt-drive: 15–20 years. Chain-drive: 10–15. Screw-drive: 10. We install belt-drives because they're quietest and longest-lasting.
Can you connect my opener to my phone?
We install LiftMaster MyQ and Chamberlain Smart openers — both work with iPhone/Android, Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit.
