Cable drums sit at each end of the torsion spring shaft and wind up the cables that lift your door. They wear, crack, or get grooves cut into them by frayed cables — and once a drum is compromised, the cable will eventually unwind from it and your door will jam or fall.
When drums need replacing

How much does drum replacement cost?
$220–$380 for both drums, including new cables (because we always replace cables when we touch drums).
How long does it take?
