PANEL REPLACEMENT

Cracked or Dented Garage Door Panels — Replaced, Not Re-Sold

Backed into the door? Hailstorm? Tree branch? You don\’t need a whole new door — you need the damaged panel replaced and the rest left alone. Eastwood sources matching panels from Clopay, Amarr, and CHI, color-matches to your existing finish, and swaps it in 90 minutes.

When you need a panel — and when you need a whole door

  • Single panel cracked or dented: replace just that panel. Done in an hour, costs a fraction of a new door.
  • Two adjacent panels damaged: still cheaper than a full door, but get both quoted.
  • Three or more panels damaged: at this point a new door is usually competitive on cost and gives you fresh hardware too.
  • Frame or struts bent: the door\’s structural integrity is compromised. New door.
  • Older door (15+ years): matching panels may be discontinued. Worth checking before committing.

Brands and models we panel-match

Most homes have one of these: Clopay (Premium Series, Gallery, Coachman, Avante), Amarr (Stratford, Olympus, Lincoln, Heritage), CHI (steel and Carriage House series), Wayne Dalton (Classic Steel, Designer), Garaga, and Haas. We can identify yours from a photo of the lock-side edge or the inside of a panel — the manufacturer plate is usually riveted there.

Color matching — getting it right

Factory finishes age. A 2018 Clopay Almond won\’t quite match a 2026 Clopay Almond, even from the same supplier. We bring color samples to the estimate, hold them against your door, and either order the closest factory match or arrange a paint match through a local body shop. Most of the time the factory match is invisible from the curb. When it isn\’t, we\’ll tell you upfront.

What it costs

Panel replacement runs $250-700 per panel:

  • Steel panel, builder-grade door: $250–$400
  • Insulated steel: $350–$550
  • Carriage-house style with overlays: $500–$800
  • Custom wood or wood-look composite: $700–$1,400

That includes the panel, hinges, fasteners, balance check, and disposal of the old panel. Free estimates, no service-call fee when you book the work.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before booking a service.

Can you match a 20-year-old door panel?

Sometimes. Older models may be discontinued — we'll check with the manufacturer's parts division while we're at the estimate.

Will the new panel match the others perfectly?

Factory finishes age slightly differently. We aim for a match invisible from the curb. We'll show you the new panel against the old before we install it.

How long does panel replacement take?

60–90 minutes for a single panel. We balance the door and replace any damaged hinges while we're there.

Should I replace just the bottom panel after rust?

Yes — bottom panels are the most exposed to water and weather. A panel swap is way cheaper than letting it spread.
